Connections
- Gerard Way has cited Talking Heads as an influence on his 2014 solo album Hesitant Alien, particularly the song No Shows. In 2015 he tweeted "I was def going for a little Iggy, Bowie, PIL, and Talking Heads in No Shows".[1]
 - From the same album, his music video for the song Millions was compared to Talking Heads, including Once in a Lifetime, by various sources such as NME and The Guardian.[2][3]
 - In 2024, This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) was used in the final episode of Umbrella Academy, a Netflix series based on a comic book series by Way. The showrunner, Steve Blackman, stated that he "always planned to end a credits sequence with that song".[4]
