A Night of Stop Making Sense

A Night of Stop Making Sense refers to two events in June 2024, one in Los Angeles and one in New York City, each featuring a screening of Stop Making Sense followed by a Q&A with Talking Heads. The events were first announced in April 2024, presented by A24 and Sister Midnight. In addition to a screening of the film, each of the events includes a performance of a song from the film by an artist who appeared on the A24 tribute album Everyone's Getting Involved, released May 2024.

Los Angeles screening

The screening in Los Angeles took place on June 5, 2024 at the Pantages Theatre where Stop Making Sense was originally recorded. The event began with a performance of Thank You For Sending Me An Angel by Blondshell, followed by a screening of the film, followed by Talking Heads participating in a Q&A with Andy Richter (originally intended to be Fred Armisen) which included several audience questions as well as questions asked by Richter.

New York screening

The screening in New York City will take place on June 13, 2024 at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. The event will begin with a performance of Found a Job by The Linda Lindas, followed by a screening of the film, followed by Talking Heads participating in a Q&A with Questlove. The same night, an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will air (recorded the previous day, June 12), with Talking Heads being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon. The Linda Lindas will also perform on this episode.
