Son Lux

Son Lux is an American experimental band that started in 2008 as a solo project for founding member Ryan Lott, before expanding in 2014 with members Ian Chang and Rafiq Bhatia. They have since been releasing albums with a blend of post-rock and electronica influences, as well as composing music for film.

Connections

• In 2022 the band composed the soundtrack to the A24 film Everything Everywhere All At Once, which features a track called "This is a Life" made in collaboration with David Byrne and Mitski.
• In 2023, the song was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song, and was performed by the band with David Byrne and cast member Stephanie Hsu in place of Mitski.
