Escape From New York Tour
The Escape from New York Tour was a multi-headlining tour that included performances by the Ramones, Jerry Harrison, Tom Tom Club, and Debbie Harry.
Background and Production
Initial talks about touring together came originally from Jerry Harrison working on writing songs with Tom Tom Club, and deciding they'd like to tour the music they had written. They felt as though they wanted to perform in a lineup that would "give people their money's worth." The musicians deciding to work with both the Ramones and Debbie Harry since they all shared similar management through Gary Kurfirst.[1]
The tour began in June 1990 and consisted of 3 sets, one by The Ramones, one by Debbie Harry, and a third set performed in tandem by Tom Tom Club and Jerry Harrison.[2] Each set would last roughly an hour. [1]
