Reasons to be Cheerful (RTBC) is a non-profit multimedia project founded by David Byrne in 2018. Its main purpose is to share positive and uplifting news, including case studies of individual communities around the world. Named after a 1979 song by Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Byrne announced the project in January 2018 alongside his studio album American Utopia. RTBC mainly functions as an online magazine, with a website, newsletter, and social media presence.
